Meet Tim Roberts

Manager, Finance

Tim manages Palladium’s project valuation activity and supports the execution of the company’s M&A and financing strategies.

  1. What excites you the most about your role at Palladium?

I’m most looking forward to developing solar projects with an experienced team that has a clear and intelligent strategy of how to make a meaningful impact in the industry. I’ve been impressed with how efficient and passionate the group is in how they approach problems.

  1. What do you see as the most significant tailwind in the renewables industry?

The most visible tailwind for the industry right now is the “Inflation Reduction Act” (IRA) but this policy is representative of a broader increase in support and interest on the opportunities in the industry that will continue to drive more investment.

  1. What do you see as the greatest challenge facing the renewables industry and how do you think we can solve it?

On a technical level, grid instability continues to be a challenge for the industry. Incentives through the IRA and other sources for developing additional storage technologies and upgrading infrastructure could help solve some of these issues.

  1. What is your favorite quote?

“Be curious, not judgmental.”

– Walt Whitman

  1. What is a recent great read you’d like to share?

I recently read “The Shortest History of Germany” by James Hawes before a trip to Germany and Austria with my family. It’s a quick overview of the key periods of the country which helped me to have a deeper appreciation of the landmarks and culture while visiting.

  1. What is a secret talent or fun hobby you do outside of developing solar?

I’ve learned to play 3 musical instruments (violin, saxophone, and guitar) but mainly focus on the guitar for now, playing blues and rock music.
